Thrust ball bearings are designed to support axial loads in one direction while allowing rotation between machine components. They consist of two hardened steel washers (races) with a ball and cage assembly between them.
These bearings are commonly used in automotive transmissions, marine propeller shafts, machine tool spindles, and other rotating applications where pure thrust loads must be accommodated with minimal friction.
