The 2208K is a self-aligning ball bearing with a tapered bore (1:12 taper ratio), designed to accommodate shaft misalignment and deflection. The double-row ball design allows the bearing to automatically adjust to angular misalignment between the shaft and housing, while the tapered bore enables direct mounting onto tapered shafts or mounting with adapter sleeves.
Self-aligning ball bearings are commonly used in applications where precise shaft alignment is difficult to maintain, such as agricultural equipment, conveyor systems, woodworking machinery, and fans. The tapered bore configuration is particularly suited for applications requiring ease of mounting and dismounting or where thermal expansion must be accommodated.
