Self-aligning ball bearings feature two rows of balls running on a spherical outer ring raceway, allowing the bearing to accommodate angular misalignment between the shaft and housing. The 2313K-C3 has a 65mm tapered bore (1:12 taper) for direct mounting on tapered shafts or adapter sleeves, with C3 internal clearance providing greater radial play than standard for applications with thermal expansion or misalignment.
These bearings are commonly used in applications where shaft deflection or mounting errors are expected, such as agricultural equipment, conveyors, wood processing machinery, and fans. The tapered bore design simplifies mounting and dismounting while ensuring a secure fit on the shaft.
