Self-aligning ball bearings feature two rows of balls running on a spherical outer ring raceway, allowing the bearing to accommodate angular misalignment between the shaft and housing. The tapered bore (1:12 taper) design facilitates mounting directly onto tapered shafts or adapter sleeves for simplified installation and removal.
These bearings are commonly used in applications where shaft deflection or misalignment is present, including agricultural equipment, conveyor systems, wood processing machinery, and textile equipment. The self-aligning capability compensates for mounting errors and shaft deflection during operation.
