Self-aligning ball bearings feature two rows of balls running on a spherical outer ring raceway, allowing the bearing to accommodate angular misalignment between the shaft and housing. The tapered bore design (1:12 taper) enables secure mounting directly onto tapered shafts or cylindrical shafts using adapter sleeves or withdrawal sleeves.
These bearings are commonly used in applications where shaft deflection or misalignment is expected, such as agricultural equipment, conveyor systems, woodworking machinery, and fans. The C3 radial clearance provides greater internal clearance than normal, making it suitable for applications with thermal expansion, interference fits, or shaft/housing tolerances requiring additional internal space.
