Self-aligning ball bearings feature a double-row design with a common spherical raceway in the outer ring, allowing the bearing to accommodate angular misalignment between the shaft and housing. The 2217-K has an 85mm tapered bore (1:12 taper) for direct mounting on tapered shafts or adapter sleeves, eliminating the need for additional mounting hardware.
These bearings are commonly used in applications where shaft deflection or misalignment is expected, such as agricultural equipment, conveyor systems, woodworking machinery, and general industrial equipment. The self-aligning capability compensates for mounting errors and shaft deflections that occur under load.
