Self-aligning ball bearings feature two rows of balls running on a spherical outer ring raceway, allowing the bearing to accommodate angular misalignment between the shaft and housing. The tapered bore (1:12 taper) enables mounting directly onto tapered shafts or standard cylindrical shafts using adapter sleeves and withdrawal sleeves.
These bearings are commonly used in applications where shaft deflection or mounting errors cause misalignment, including agricultural equipment, conveyor systems, woodworking machinery, and general industrial equipment. The self-aligning capability helps reduce edge loading and premature failure in demanding operating conditions.
