Self-aligning ball bearings are double row bearings with a common sphered raceway in the outer ring, allowing the bearing to compensate for angular misalignment between the shaft and housing. The tapered bore (1:12 taper) allows for secure mounting directly onto tapered shafts or standard cylindrical shafts using adapter or withdrawal sleeves.
These bearings are commonly used in applications where shaft deflection or misalignment is expected, such as agricultural equipment, conveyor systems, fans, blowers, and wood processing machinery. The self-aligning capability helps reduce edge stress and premature failure in installations where perfect alignment is difficult to maintain.
